How to Enter Exam Marks for Whole Class Quickly
The Challenge: Evaluation time is stressful. Teachers juggle stacks of answer sheets, calculating totals on calculators, and writing them into master registers. A single calculation error affects the student's final grade and rank, leading to parent complaints and re-work.
Manual Method vs. Smart School
| Task | Manual Way (Old) | Smart School Way (New) |
|---|---|---|
| Calculation | Manual calculator per student | Auto-Sum & Percentage |
| Speed | 1 hour per subject | 10 minutes per subject |
| Errors | High probability | Zero Calculation Errors |
Step-by-Step Guide
-
Navigate to Mark Entry.
Go to Exams & Results and click on Mark Entry. Select the Class, Section, and Subject.

Automatic Calculation.
As you type, the system uses JavaScript to live-calculate the Total Marks. Click once finished.
Troubleshooting
If you face issues, check these common solutions:
- "Subject not found": Ensure you have assigned subjects to this class in Subjects Setup.
- "Marks greater than Max Marks": You cannot enter 85 if the maximum marks for the exam is 80. Check your Exam Setup.
