As one academic year ends and another begins, the Student Promotion module ensures a smooth transition. It handles the automatic migration of students to their next classes and secures your old data in a read-only archive.

The Promotion Request

Promotion is a centralized action. From the Main Dashboard, locate the Promote Students option. This will trigger a request to the system administrator to open the next academic session.


1. When to Promote?

Promotion should occur only after:

  • Final results have been prepared and announced.
  • All active student records are up to date.
  • The school is ready to start the new academic calendar.

2. The Automatic Process

Once the promotion request is approved, the system performs several automated tasks:

Class Migration

Students are moved up by one level (e.g., Nursery to LKG, 5th to 6th). Students in the highest class are marked as "Graduated/Left".

Session Update

The entire school dashboard switches to the new academic year (e.g., 2024-25 to 2025-26).

3. Records & Archival

Every single record from the old session—including attendance, results, and student lists—is moved into the Academic Archives.

This ensures your current dashboard remains clean and focused on the new session, while old data remains accessible for viewing and printing whenever needed.

Permanent Action: Promotion is an irreversible process. Once students are moved to the next class and old data is archived, you cannot "undo" the session transition. Always verify your student lists before confirming.
