School Terms Glossary
Understand the terminology used in Smart School Management.
- Admission Number
- A unique identifier assigned to every student when they join the school. It remains the same throughout their academic journey.
- UDISE Code
- Unified District Information System for Education. An 11-digit code unique to every recognized school in India.
- FA / SA Exams
- Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA). A grading system used by many state boards (like JKBOSE) to evaluate students periodically.
- MDM (Mid-Day Meal)
- A government program providing free lunch to students in primary and upper primary classes. Schools must track daily consumption.
- Transfer Certificate (TC)
- A document issued to a student when they leave the school, certifying their details and that they have no pending dues.
- Bonafide Certificate
- A proof of identity confirming that a student is currently enrolled in the school.
- Fee Receipt
- A proof of payment issued to parents after school fees are collected.
- Session
- The academic year (e.g., 2024-2025). Student promotion happens at the end of a session.
